Arming Parents with the Tools for their Child's Success
Dallas Academy welcomes members of the community to campus this fall as we discuss strategies to help children become more successful in the classroom as well as at home. Parents are invited to join us for coffee, pastries, and to learn valuable strategies and skills to support the success of their child. Each presentation will be led by Dallas Academy's Certified Academic Language Therapist, Sarah Lewis. The programs are free and open to any interested member of the community.

Successfully Surviving School Breaks
School holidays can be a difficult time for parents. Keeping your child entertained and busy can become a full time job. Before you throw the remote or iPad their way, let's discuss how to make best use of the free time. We will provide suggestions to make a routine everyone can stick to that will help strike a good balance between practicing learned skills, daily reading, and fun!
Sarah Lewis, M.Ed. CALT, has over fifteen years of classroom experience in addition to specialized training as a literacy specialist. Ms. Lewis is passionate about working with students with diagnosed learning differences as well as training teachers throughout the community to implement multisensory methods in the classroom. Ms. Lewis is a Certified Academic Language Therapist, a State Licensed Dyslexia Therapist and Qualified Instructor, is certified as a Thinking Maps Curriculum Trainer, and is certified as a Qualified Instructor of Multisensory Structured Language Education. Ms. Lewis is a reading consultant and has assisted schools with setting up academic intervention programs. She offers tutoring and support to parents of students with learning differences. Ms. Lewis holds professional memberships in the Academic Language Therapists Association and the International Dyslexia Association.
